US’ bedding company Tempur Sealy to acquire Mattress Firm

Tempur Sealy is set to acquire Mattress Firm in a cash and stock transaction. The transaction is likely to be financed with nearly $2.7 bn in cash and $1.3 bn in stock consideration. This stock consideration involves issuing 34.2 mn shares of common stock. The value of the stock consideration is determined based on the closing share price on May 8.

US’ FRX, Sichuan develop 1st halogen-free flame-retardant fabric

American chemicals company FRX Innovations Inc and China’s Sichuan EM Technology Co Ltd have collaborated to develop the world’s first halogen-free inherent flame-retardant upholstery fabric solution capable of meeting the stringent British Fire Standard BS 5852; part 1 for furniture. The solution is environmentally sustainable and permanent.
